World Tour, February 27-March 8, 2023, Australia

We arrived in Sydney, Australia on the morning of February 27 after a 41 hour flight.  Just kidding - we crossed the date line, so we lost a day - it was “only” a 17 hour flight.

Greg and Marilyn, friends from when Candace spent a sabbatical in Australia, picked us up at the airport and hosted us for two days at their home in Beecroft (a Sydney suburb). We had a walking tour of Sydney, and a ferry tour of the the Parramatta River and Sydney Harbour.

On March 1, Greg and Marilyn took us to the train station where we caught the train to Wollongong. We spent the day in Wollongong and early the next morning, we caught a train to Thirroul, where a fellow from Australian Cycle Tours met us with bikes and helmets. We spent the next 5 days cycling down the coast to Huskisson and Jervis bay where we dropped off the bikes and helmets. After spending a day in Huskisson, we took bus and train back to Sydney, stayed in an airport hotel, and then caught a flight to Phnom Penh, Cambodia on the morning of March 8.
