World Tour, March 17, 2023, Egypt I
On March 17, we toured the Egypt Museum in downtown Cairo. The museum is showing its age, but a new one is under construction in Giza.
That evening we flew to Luxor (known in ancient times as Thebes) and checked in to the Steinberger Hotel. This was the beginning of a tour arranged for us by a company called Egypt Tour Guide. They took care of everything except alcohol, tips, and souvenirs. We were met at the airport, then taken to the hotel. The next morning, we were taken to the cruise ship. Everywhere we went, a guide plus driver took us here, took as through the site, and brought us back to the ship. At the end, we were taken to the airport at Aswan to fly back to the airport hotel in Cairo.
