Western Trip, March 28 - April 3, 2014
On Friday, March 28, we flew to Los Angeles. On Saturday, we drove around the Venice - Santa Monica area and then attended Jane’s 50th High School Reunion.
On Sunday we drove to Banning to visit Jane’s sister Julie who lives in Sun Lakes Village, a 55+ gated community. We spent Sunday and Monday visiting with Julie. Julie and Jane went through some of the papers and photos their mother’s house.
Our next stop was to be a visit to my Caltech mentor, Gerry Neugebauer and wife Marcia in Tucson. But Gerry is not well and called off the visit at the last minute. We decided to go ahead with the visit to Tucson but play tourist rather than see Gerry. We wound up visiting the western part of Saguaro National Park and the Desert Museum on Tuesday and flew home on Wednesday.
