Very Low Delaware River, October 31, 2024
On October 31, 2024, I was riding my bike south from Lambertville, NJ. We haven’t had rain in a long time and the Delaware River was extremely low - perhaps as low as I’ve ever seen it. About a half mile from Lambertville, there’s a wing dam - designed to make the center of the river a bit deeper. When the river is high, it roars over the dam.
I decided to walk out on the wing dam and have a look. It’s a bit of climb from the bike path down to the river, but one just has to be careful.
