Twin Lights Ride, September 27, 2015

On the last Sunday in September, Bike New York puts on the Twin Lights Ride (there are two light houses in Navesink, NJ). The ride starts and ends in Huddy Park, Highlands, NJ, just south of Sandy Hook, NJ. New Yorkers can take a ferry between Manhattan and Sandy Hook. New Jersey folks can drive to Highlands.

Karen, the organize of the FANY ride, came down from Albany and we did 55 mile loop together. We both had our FANY jerseys on and there were a number of inquiries about the FANY ride.

About 2700 riders participated in this year’s ride. The ride was well organized and the rest stops had really nice snacks. There were also a lot of rest stops, four on the 55 mile loop, so they were only 10-12 miles apart.

At the end of the ride, we hung around the festival for a while and then walked over to an Irish Pub we had spotted earlier and had a more substantial snack!

The GPS track of the ride has been uploaded to RidewithGPS.com.
