Ohio Trip, June 13-17, 2024

On Thursday, June  13, Candace and I flew to Cleveland, Ohio and then were driven to her Mom’s (Beverly’s) house in Wooster Ohio. The main reason for the trip was to attend Candace’s 50th reunion at Hiram College. That evening, we had dinner at Frank’s house. Frank is a fellow Hiram alum. Also at dinner were alums Joel and Barbara and Frank’s friend Marilyn.

The next day, Frank drove us to Hiram where we attended a reception and stayed overnight in one of the dorms.

On Saturday, we attended a lecture on James Garfield (president of Hiram as well as the US) and then walked around  campus, finding Candace’s old dorm. We left campus and drove around the Hiram area finding  a place for lunch in  a nearby town. Then Frank drove us to Cleveland where we attended a Rolling Stones Concert (playing hooky from the rest of the reunion). Joel and Barbara had arranged to get the tickets. We got back to Beverly’s house a bit past midnight.

Sunday, we stayed at Beverly’s and helped her plant several floral arrangements around her house. Frank joined us for dinner.

Saturday, Frank drove us the the Cleveland airport for our return flight to Newark.
