NY Philharmonic Concert in the Park, June 14, 2017

Every summer, the New York Philharmonic plays a series of free concerts in the boros. Don and Andrea invited Candace and me to join them for the Central Park Concert. They arrived at 11 am (for the 8 pm concert!) and found a great blanket spot close to the stage.  Candace and I joined them about 6:30 pm after Candace got off work.

The weather was perfect and the concert was great, featuring Dvořák’s ninth symphony, “From the New World.”

Before the concert began, we enjoyed conversation and a picnic supper.

There were said to be 50,000 people in attendance. I didn’t count, but everywhere I looked there were people!
