Great Finger Lakes Bicycle Tour, June 8-10, 2018

Candace and I participated in the Great Finger Lakes Bicycle Tour. This is an event put on annually by the Southern Tier Bicycle Club based in Binghamton, NY. I believe this year was the 38th running of the event.

One arrives at the Watkins Glen Hidden Valley Group Camp on a Friday afternoon, sets up camp, and then choose from a couple of rides that afternoon. Saturday is the main riding day with more than a half dozen rides to choose from. The Sunday tradition is to ride around Keuka.

Dinner is provided Friday and Saturday evenings and breakfast is provided Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Friday, we did the Sugar Hill Fire Tower Loop; Saturday, the Watkins Glen - Lodi Loop; and Sunday, the Keuka Lake loop as well as about half the Keuka Outlet Trail. GPS Tracks of these rides are on ridewithgps.com: Friday’s ride, Saturday’s ride, and Sunday’s ride.

At the end of Sunday’s ride we returned home to New Jersey.

The GFLBT is always a great weekend of bicycle riding with great people, great scenery, and great food.
