Like many other people, I give to charities. I have noticed over the years, that it often seems like a donation is immediately followed (by return mail, sometimes) by another request. So this year, I decided not to make any donations until “Giving Tuesday.” Instead, I just saved all the requests. On the day before giving Tuesday, I sorted them by requestor and counted how many requests there were from the biggest “offenders” (requestors).

Far and away, the biggest was the World Wildlife Fund. They sent me 29 requests in 11 months. I make donations to all of the “offenders” listed below, including the WWF; typically, $100. I wonder: how much do they spend to send the requests? If it costs the WWF $3.50  or more per mailing, they are losing money on me!
