Boston Trip, February 17-20, 2017

I was named an American Association for the Advancement of Science Fellow in late 2016. Roughly 200 new fellows were awarded certificates and rosettes at a New Fellows Breakfast in Boston on February 18, 2017.

Candace, Jeff, Amy, and I all arrived in Boston on Friday evening and stayed at the Marriott Copley Place where the breakfast would be held.  We enjoyed a nice dinner in a nearby restaurant. Saturday, February 18, we attended the New Fellows Breakfast. We saw some old friends and made some new ones. Later on Saturday, we visited the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and managed to get same day tickets for the Boston Symphony! Before the symphony we had another nice dinner!

On Sunday, after a late breakfast, we checked out of the hotel and Candace and I checked into the Fairmont Copley Plaza (because Candace had always wanted to stay there). We visited the JFK Presidential Library. After that Jeff and Amy hit the road for home. Candace and I enjoyed a nice dinner at the Copley Plaza Hotel restaurant. Monday (President’s Day), we walked around Copley Plaza (among other things, it’s where the Boston Marathon finishes).

After lunch, Candace and I returned to New York and Princeton.
