Almost Summer Ride, June 2, 2012
On June 2, we had an “Almost Summer” bicycle ride. Riders included Norm Jarosik, senior research physicist in the Princeton Physics Department., Melissa Jacoby, friend of Norm’s. Chiara Nappi, Professor in the physics department, Ed Witten, Professor at the Institute for Advanced Study, and me, Ed Groth, Professor in the physics department. What happened to the students?
We rode the Columbia Trail from High Bridge, NJ to Long Valley, NJ, had lunch and rode back for a round trip of about 23 miles.
A slight complication at the start was that the Soap Box Derby was going on in High Bridge so many streets were closed including the access to the parking lot where we were going to meet. But, we managed to find each other and get started with only a small delay.
The Columbia Trail has many gnome homes (?) and other interesting objects, so besides the scenery, spotting the various additions can be interesting!
An interactive map of the ride is on ridewithgps.com.
